Biography

Bernard was born 05 February 1894 at Mardyke Street Athlone County Westmeath Son of William Martin (a publican) and Mary Molloy.

Bernard was known as "Brian" normally.[1]


Brian married Mary Cecelia [Sheila] Hartnett on 10th July 1924 at St Joseph's Church, Berkeley Road, Dublin.

At the time of his marriage he was employed as a "commercial traveller" and living at 27 Annavilla, Ranelagh.

Three daughters were born to Brian and Cecelia: Sheila Nuala and Pamela.
